Eating guide:

To ensure a juicy bite, a thick cut rump is best enjoyed medium rare, fried on a non-stick pan with a drizzle of olive oil over a high heat. Pat your rump steak dry, rub with olive oil and season both sides with salt to enhance the natural, pure flavour of the beef. Once the pan is very hot, add the steak and cook for 3-3½ min on each side for medium rare. Using a pair of tongs, lift the steak onto it’s edge and sear the fat for 20 seconds for a crispy, mouth watering finish.

The cut:

Rump primal steak, also known as sirloin (American) is a lean & tender boneless piece of beef, cut from the hindquarter. It’s made up of three out of the five rump muscles in the leg that has a rich and generous depth of flavour.
